Average time for apply patch in 12.1+

I've tried to applied patch in 12.1 and took 6 days and running. Is this normal? What is the normal time it takes to apply for a patch.

what is the db size? what s the hardware? and did you check what did take
this time exactly? this may be related with statistics gathering during the
upgrade.. check the log for elapsed times of adsstats.sql or adstats.sql

On my first attempt, I installed EBS 12.1.1 on 32 bit WIndows 2008 machine as I've to upgrade it to 12.1.3 later so following your article http://ermanarslan.blogspot.ae/2013/09/ebs-1211-to-1213-upgrade-steps.html.

I tried to applied 1st patch on list u9239089.drv and unable to complete for 3 days and then I stopped the system. I assigned 6 GB RAM and 2 + 2 CPU/Cores to this system.

Then I installed 12.2 on Windows 2008 R2 with 6 RAM and 2+2 Cpu/Cores as I thought there may be some mistake and try apply patch with adop but no result after 6 days so I stopped at created out folders ..

Any idea.

check the logs for 12.1 patch. It may be related with stats gathering durin
the upgrade. check the log to be sure.

if your upgrade in 12.1 is still running , check the os processes and check
the db reflections of your upgrade patch.  I mean check the session waits
as well.

I'm starting the process again. Currently 8 GB increase to 12 GB and Processor 2.66 x 4 CPU.

Anything which I check / do before starting.

check the log files of your previous run. post the problem / time taking
script/sql/java code here.

I cant give you average time, it depends..
But I can say that 5 hours is acceptable for patch 9239090 --Oracle E-Business Suite Release  12.1.3 ..

R12.AD.B..DELTA.3 (9239089) again depends.. 9239089 should not take too long. 15-20 mins maybe.

My upgrade work in a Big bank was 1005 minutes long.. It was an EBS upgrade from version 12.0.6 to version 12.1.3 + a lot of DELTA patches (like  R12.HR_PF.B.DELTA.5  13418800) + DB and Grid PSU upgrades.

I installed EBS 12.1.1 again try to patch. Error while linking. Below are the logs.

Make sure your environment is ok.  you need to source the applmgr's environment file before patching. Also check the environment variable named "PATH".
