CPU patching in ebs R12.2.5

satish
Dear Erman,

Our architecture -12.2.5 apps and 12.1.0.2 database

We are applying latest Apr2019 cpu patches to our environment using (Doc ID 2514102.1).

I understand,For EBS 12.2 the applicable patch to be 29224724 and for DB OJVM PSU 12.1.0.2.190416 and Database PSU 12.1.0.2.190416 Combo Patch 29252146.

For weblogic it mentions PSU 10.3.6.0.190416 (Patch 29204678).

Do we need to apply patches for Oracle Fusion Middleware 11.1.1.9 - Web Tier Home  and Oracle Fusion Middleware 11.1.1.9 - Oracle Common Home  as well?

I dont see any Apr2019 patches released yet for webtier home and common home

Thank you,
satish

Yes . It is good document to follow.

applying Weblogic PSU is not a must, but we recommend that you apply the latest CPU both to Oracle E-Business Suite and "its associated technologies."

Is is also said there ->  "In general, there are no dependencies between the Oracle E-Business Suite CPU and the technology stack components, and the patches can be applied in any order."

So what I recommend you for that note is , reviewing all the tables - Table 1 , 2 and 3

Table 1 lists CPU patches for Oracle E-Business Suite.

Table 2 lists security-related patches for the technology stack components (Oracle Java, Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Developer Suite and other Oracle products) that are used with Oracle E-Business Suite and have new patches in this CPU.

Table 3 lists security-related patches for the technology stack components used with Oracle E-Business Suite that are supported and do not have new patches in this CPU.

Dear Erman,

Will CPU patch touch any product code which will inturn effect if any customization?
Will AD/TXK patch touch any product code which will inturn effect if any customization?

Thank you,

It may effect.
That's why , you first need to patch your TEST enviroments to see it better.
You can also use-> EBS Data Model Comparison Report and other reports which are given in AD-TXK release documents ->

Data Model Comparison Report
The EBS Data Model Comparison Report lists the database object definition changes between two Oracle E-Business Suite releases in terms of the seed data that is based on the ATG loader control (.lct) files and the seed data that is delivered by the product data loader (.ldt) files. This enables users to preview database object definition changes before upgrading from one release to another, and to understand the impact of database object changes that may affect the customization or business flows.

For more information about the EBS Data Model Comparison report, see Document 1290886.1, EBS Data Model Comparison Report Overview.

EBS ATG Seed Data Comparison Report
The EBS ATG Seed Data Comparison Report lists the differences between two Oracle E-Business Suite releases in terms of the seed data that is based on the ATG loader control (.lct) files and delivered by the product data loader (.ldt) files.

For more information about the EBS ATG Seed Data Comparison Report, see Document 1327399.1, EBS ATG Seed Data Comparison Report.

EBS File Comparison Report
The EBS File Comparison Report provides a comprehensive comparison of file system artifacts between different Oracle E-Business Suite releases for important file types. As part of Oracle E-Business Suite upgrade planning, this report provides customers with information about what is different in the new release. It includes additions, removals, and modifications for Oracle E-Business Suite delivered files. The report also covers some special artifacts that span the file system and database, such as Oracle E-Business Suite delivered Oracle Application Framework (OAF) personalizations, OAF based pages, and Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher reports.

For more information about the EBS File Comparison Report , see Document 1446430.1, EBS File Comparison Report Overview.
