EBS 12.1 RAC Migration

veysel
Hi Erman,

Our EBS version is 12.1.3 with single instance database 12c. we want to migrate it to RAC architecture on our ODA servers. I will clone appstier classical methods.
I'm confused for the DB layer. There is already a database directory on ODA servers. After moving the EBS database with expdp/impdp, will it be enough to copy the appsutil to this database directory and do the classic after-clone operations with scan listener?

Thanks

Hi Veysel,

Your root document should be -> R11i / R12: Oracle E-Business Suite Upgrades and Platform Migration (Doc ID 1377213.1)  -> For Db Tier ; "section: Database Migrations and Upgrades"

If you already decided to migrate the db tier using exp imp;  the documents to follow should be ->

R12/11gR1 and R12/11gR2 : 'Export/Import Process for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.0 or 12.1 Database Instances Using Oracle Database 11g Release 1 or 11g Release 2' - MOS Document 741818.1
R12 (12.0/12.1)/12cR1: 'Export/Import Process for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.0 or 12.1 Database Instances Using Oracle Database 12c Release 1' - MOS Document 1585256.1
R12 (12.1)/19c: 'Export/Import Process for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1 Database Instances Using Oracle Database 19c' - MOS Document 2615617.1

Follow the EBS exp-imp document according to your DB and Application version.. (choose from above)
There are several things to do..

Your questions will be answered by the related exp-imp document above..
You can ask me your questions if you still have any. (after reading the related doc)

Note that, if it is suitable for you (if your current platform and the new platform is suitable in terms of CPU arch. and OS), you may consider other db migration methods as well..

For instance, rapid clone.
