Hi Erman,
While upgrading EBS to latest 12.2.10 version - ETCC is reporting missing WLS patches for 10.3.6.0 version. The missing patch and the superseded patches are put under extended support by Oracle. Can you please suggest an alternate ti upgrade to EBS 12.2.10 Can we plan to upgrade weblogic to 12c version and then proceed with EBS upgrade. If not, what other options can I explore to proceed as access to extended support is not an option for me. =============================================================================== PATCH RECOMMENDATION SUMMARY =============================================================================== One or more products have bugfixes missing. Yes.. Weblogic 10.3.6 is in extended support.. This means you can't dowload latest Weblogic 10.3.6 PSUs without having extended support..
However; during EBS 12.2.10 installation or upgrade; you won't download that PSU. You will download ETCC: EBS RELEASE 12.2 CONSOLIDATED FMW FIXES patch .. This patch is a consolidated zip file with the required application tier patches is available. I mean , you run downlaod patch 17537119, unzip it and then run checkMTpatch.sh .. In the output, it lists the patches that need to be applied before the upgrade of components such as forms, oracle_common, wls etc.. At the end of the output, it reommends you to download the 31770901 - ETCC: EBS RELEASE 12.2 CONSOLIDATED FMW FIXES (for instance) patch.. When you download and unzip that consolidated patch, you will find the overlay patches for WLS PSUS.. for instance overlay patch for OCT 2020 PSU.. However; you also need to apply the Weblogic PSU patch before applying the overlay.. for instance; you need the following combination.. (note that, 32097188 is already in consolidated fix patch, but the PSU itself isn't and it is on exteded support) WLS PATCH SET UPDATE 10.3.6.0.201020 (Patch 31641257) + WLS OVERLAY PATCH FOR 10.3.6.0.0 OCT 2020 PSU (Patch 32097188) for CVE-2020-14750 So, it is all about the output of CheckMT.. Here is an example output; Oracle WebLogic Server (WLS) =============================================================================== Now examining product Oracle WebLogic Server (WLS). Oracle Home = /u01/applebs/PROD/fs1/FMW_Home/wlserver_10.3. Product Version = 10.3.6.0.190716 Note that for Oracle WebLogic Server, patches rather than bugfixes are verified. All required patches are present for Oracle WebLogic Server (WLS). =============================================================================== Generating Patch Recommendation Summary. =============================================================================== PATCH RECOMMENDATION SUMMARY =============================================================================== One or more products have bugfixes missing. Weblogic 12C is not certified, so you can not use it with EBS..
It seems, for using the latest Weblogic 10.3.6 PSUs in EBS 12.2 , weblogic extended support is needed. Please create an Oracle Support SR for this.. You should be able to download those Weblogic 10.3.6 PSUs , as the default weblogic PSU that is installed with the EBS installer (even with the latest startCD 51) is not recommended anymore. In addition you may want to apply WLS PSU patches time to time to be synced with the latest enhancements and fixes. A new startCD may also help, but I don't see a new startCD on its way.. Please ask it to Oracle support. |

Thanks for your response Erman. I already downloaded the consolidated zip file as per ETCC recommendation but it doesn't contain the missing patch 30109677. I also looked for this patch under these consolidated patches but unable to found the missing patch.

Yes.. Please see my previous update..
In order to apply latest PSU patches, extended support is needed.. However; this shouldn't be the case for EBS customer.. That's why, I told you to create a SR for this. |
Yes Erman, I've created an SR with Oracle but unable to get the patch without buying extended support download access. Not sure, why Oracle would put WLS PSUs under extended when it is actually shipped with Oracle EBS installer.

Create the SR and assign it to EBS team.. ATG group, and ask it to them by telling your story..
This PSU thing is a must for EBS 12.2 installation, so please ask them to know how to proceed? In the worst case, you may continue without applying that newer PSU to your WLS, but then you will not have recommended WLS patches in place.. |
