EBS 12.2 and EBR(Edition Based Definition)

Rishin
Hi Emran,

This is with respect to your post on "EBS 12.2 and EBR(Edition Based Definition) , How Online Patching does these things? Lets make a DEMO"

http://ermanarslan.blogspot.com/2015/07/ebs-122-and-ebr-lets-make-demo.html

Thanks for the detailed explanation on this thread.

I just have a couple of confusions here:

1.Does the clean up phase of the online patching get rid of 'dummy' leaving 'dummy2' as the new column OR if 'dummy' is dropped and 'dummy2' is renamed to 'dummy' leaving the table structure as it was before the patch?

2. If the column editions are retained, then what is the maximum number of times a table column definition can be modified, given that the column name can be of 28 bytes in EBS 12.2 ?

Regards,
Rishin

1) That column should be dropped when you run the cleanup phase with cleanup_mode=full
2) I think answer 1 above should clear your doubt about this.

Perfect. Thanks Erman for your prompt response. Appreciate it. Have few other questions related to the EBS 12.2.9 Upgrade. Will post them in different threads.
