EBS on Exadata Testing

Baskar
Hi Erman,

Greetings and thanks a lot for all your blogs and knowledge sharing.

We just migrated a EBS R12.1.3 version to Exadata. 4 node RAC and 4 node app tier.

From Apps DBA perspective what are the testing strategy to be followed?

Hi Baskar,

If you are asking the admin tests, check the load balancing and failover is working. Check the PCP performing appropriately. Check your backup scripts, check the performance of EBS seeded forms and oaf pages, that are used in your Environment. Check the performance of the Reporting applications such as Discoverer. Ensure no errors are reported in any one of these areas.
Check your db links working properly. Perform a load test and Check AWR & ADDM reports.
Check any underscore parameter defined in your source environment, consider whether to define them or not in your target Exadata environment.
Check any optimizer related parameter defined in your source environment, consider whether to define them or not in your target Exadata environment.
Check applications is using Scan listener properly.
Run orachk on DB tier and correct the errors / enhance the configuration accordingly.
Check EBS-EXA documents and knowledge base and apply and missing patches.
Check MAA documents for the fine-tune actions for the environments like EBS 12.1 running on EXADATA
