Hi Erman,
We have been trying to install EBS 12.2.5 on GRID 12c for a month and were not successful. After repeated failed attempts with ASM,we started installing by selecting filesystem on two node RAC.We got stuck at 25% while running "Enabling Autoconfig for primary node" stage. Error is that: Oracle is not available. We selected PROD database to install from rapidwiz and it installed PROD database. But, there is something wrong in autoconfig script which replaces SID=PROD with null and hostname=rac1 to PROD resulting in oracle not available: Please find the below "RACAutoConfig_13291.log": ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 1 stdin parameters are passed to this command ERROR: Error in running adbldxml.pl on node rac1 ERROR: Error is Starting context file generation for db tier..Using JVM from /u01/oracle/PROD/12.1.0/appsutil/jre/bin/java to execute java programs..The log file for this adbldxml session is located at:/u01/oracle/PROD/12.1.0/appsutil/log/adbldxml_05181534.logCould not Connect to the Database : ORA-01034: ORACLE not availableORA-27101: shared memory realm does not existLinux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or directoryAdditional information: 3640Additional information: 2144913303 Connecting to the null database instance...Connection paramaters values: Database server hostname ==> RAC1.ORACLERAC-BLR.COM Database listener port ==> 1522 Database SID ==> null Database schema name ==> APPS +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ more log: +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ERROR: Config option selected is complete Begin : Enabling Autoconfig on the primary Node rac1 ... 1) I need to see the log..
adbldxml.pl is failing at db node 1. This perl script is used for creating the context file.. (internally by the installer in this case) we need to find the cause that makes the adbldxml.pl fail. Also , it is important to do your installation properly, following the necessary documents. 2) What documentation do you follow? |

Okay now I see the reason..
Your db is not up. Properly not restored properly due a problem. DB is restored by the installer internally during the installation. (rapidwiz is the installer) You need to follow this MOS document -> Troubleshooting Rapid Install for E-Business Suite Release 12.2 (Doc ID 1378579.1) |
Sure Erman. I will follow the document and update.

Hi Erman,
I am following Doc ID 1626606.1 at the moment which is comprehensive and involves deep study and understanding before proceeding with installation. Until now, we tried with selecting RAC with ASM during EBS installation for PROD database. Now, since we have no luck, we selected local filesystem to install PROD database on RAC. Do we need to select a shared file system? (like NFS on NAS device). If so, can you please provide what NAS devices oracle EBS supports? I didn't get any clue from oracledocs or google. Thanks, Sriram |

You should install RAC using ASM. This is my recommendation.
The error you are getting is not normal. You need to investigate and solve it using the document that I sent you in my last update. If you installed EBS on local filesystem, you can still convert it to RAC. You can convert your db from local filesystem to asm using rconfig and then reconfigure your EBS database tier according to RAC configuration and then reconfigure your APPS tier according to this change. however, these are advance actions, as you may guess. So if I were you, I would install a FRESH EBS directly on top of RAC/ASM and try to solve error (if you get any) Here is the documents to follow : Using Oracle 11g Release 2 Real Application Clusters and Automatic storage management with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 (Doc ID 1453213.1) Using Oracle 12c Release 1 (12.1) Real Application Clusters with Oracle E-Business Suite Release R12.2 (Doc ID 1626606.1) note that, these documents will redirect you to other documents.. So you should go full path to do a proper installation. |
Hello Erman,
We have tried enough number of times to install EBS 12.2 on 12c R1 RAC.May i ask you how much would you charge for installing just EBS 12.2 on our grid setup. We have 12.2.0.1 Grid infrastructure configured on ASM. Please let us know how much time would you take to install on our grid two node setup. This is test environment. Thanks, Sriram |
