Forms Not Opening After Successful Apply of AD and TXK Delta 10 Update Pack

Hi,

I am facing an issue related to the upgrade of R12.2.0 to R12.2.4.The Database is 12.1.0.2, OS Linux 7.3 and Application 12.2.0. As per Oracle doc. id 1617458.1 we need to Apply Consolidated Seed Table Upgrade Patch 17204589:12.2.0 which we applied successfully, then we tested the application with all forms opening. Then we applied the AD and TXK Delta 10 Release Update Pack. This was also without any error. After this we tested the application but the forms are not opening. The error it showed was "In order to access this application, you must install J2SE plugin version 1.6.0_27". We raised the SR with MOS and the asked us to execute the following commands which we did. The commands are
1. Stop the application tier services
+ Run adadmin regenerate JAR file
+ Compile all the forms.
+ cd $ORACLE_HOME/forms/lib
make -f ins_forms.mk install

2. Run autoconfig on apps tiers
3. Bring up the services and test issue
This time after going thru System Administrator > Concurrent > Manager > Administer, The window with Oracle EBS Logo appeared.

I would highly appreciate solution which can fix this issue.

You have Java 8 in your client.
you have a missing "C:\ProgramData\Oracle\Java\java.settings.cfg" file and that's why you have an error in the output that you sent to me.
The issue can be caused by 2 things. 1) using such an high versioned java 2) missing java.settings.cfg
This seems to be caused by a client related, java installation thing.

delete this java from your client (with a clean way) and then install java 7 (for instance, 7.25 or 7.18 )
Retry.

As you said, I uninstalled java 8 and installed java 7.5 (log attached). But the error remain same i.e. "In order to access this application, you must install the J2SE Plugin version 1.6.0_27."

I also tried this version but same message. (log for java 6 attached).

Hi,

Have you deleted the browsing history/cleared cache . Also make sure sure you restarted the browser.

I suspect that, your browser can not see the installed java.
please test your browser using the below link, can you able to see the java in this web page?

What do you see? Any errors in this page? Can you able to see your java there?

Thanks for your help and suggestions but the issue is resolved. I installed the EBS R12.2 using startCD 12.2.0_51 then I faced the issues mentioned above after successful application of AD and TXK packs. Then I proceeded with R121.2.4 upgrade pack and the forms are opening. I presume that the R12.2.4 upgrade pack contains the patch which can resolved the problem of not opening of forms after the application of AD and TXK packs.

Aha.. You tried to open the forms after the initial installation of EBS 12.2 (EBS 12.2.0)
So that's maybe your issue.
EBS 12.2.0 is not supported. You need to upgrade it directly after the installation, you should not open the EBS 12.2.0 instance to "user access". (forms, oacore anyting) So that's may be the cause as you say..
The reasons behind this upgrade requirement are these kinds of issues , anyways..
