Functional aspects of Oracle EBS 11i

Hi Erman,

How are you ? I Hope you are fine.

I need to study functional aspects of the old version of Oracle EBS 11i.

Do you have any advice to help me doing that ?

Also the application is surviving by developing lot of customs; as I didn’t practice this do you have advices to learn necessary knowledge.

Hi Samia,

You should go through the documentation in Oracle EBS 11i documentation library.

For the customizations, you should study forms development, custom.pll stuff, UI personalizations, Database objects & PLSQL, rdf report development and so on..

Normally, you should review the documentation of your own system. Those customizations were developed in your environment, so related documentation should be already available in your knowledge base. If not, then you should reverse engineer your system, but in order to be able to do that you should first study the things that I mentioned above.

Do you think I can take training in Oracle learning.
Documentation seems heavy and I’ll make a lot of Time to capture the essentials. I don’t have this background at all.

If you have any idea about which training I should take I’ll be happy to follow your advice.

You may check Historical Archives of Oracle University. But 11i is very old. But give it a try.
Check Udemy / Tutorials as well.
Check youtube, there is a wealth of free, detailed series by independent DBAs that cover the end-to-end topics.. You may find 11i related stuff there.
