For instances with the database tier and application tier on the same system:
If the database tier and application tier are on the same system and owned by the same user, then you must run rapidwiz as that user.
In a multi-user installation, where the database tier and application tier are on the same system but owned by different users, you must run rapidwiz as the root user.
For instances using a split tier configuration, with the database tier and application tier on different systems:
If you are running Rapid Install as part of an upgrade, and you plan to choose the 'Use Existing Oracle Home (No new Database Home install)' option, then you must run rapidwiz only from the application tier as the application tier operating system user.
Otherwise, you must first run rapidwiz from the database tier as the database tier operating system use, and then run rapidwiz again from the application tier as the application tier operating system user.
