We are planning to migrate EBS 12.2.12 and its database 19.21 to different datacenter with VMware virtualisation. We have ,
- 2 nodes EBS 12.2.12 (Shared APPL_TOP), 1 node DMZ
- SSO environment (1 node for OAM , 1 node for OID & Database 19c)
- Enterprise command center installed on a separate server integrated with EBS 12.2.12
- Operating System - Oracle Linux 8.5

Please let us know the best method in doing this and we are planned to clone entire VM (Oracle Linux 8.5) and hostname to be same as source VMs(carbon copy)

Also, need your inputs on the licensing part as well

If it is already on vmware, you can use vmware capabilities for cloning, that's ok.
For that license related part;

Vmware is supported, but it has disadvantages for Oracle licensing.
Your databases will be licensed according to your Vmware "host" cpu counts.
No matter how many virtual cpu cores your vm machines have, you need to license your databases and applications according to your vmware host  cpu.. So keep that in mind..
In other words; cpu pinning and hard partitioning on vmware is not accepted for Oracle licensing..

Thanks a lot for the update.

Yes, we are planning to use VMware capabilities for cloning, so that the it will be carbon copy of the VMs from source.

For databases (EBS, SSO, Other standalone DBs) we are using dedicated VMware cluster with 2 physical hosts for license constraints for number of physical host cores.

But for Applications (EBS 12.2, OAM 12c, OID 12c , ECC) , can we use the shared cluster ? Will these applications are also be part of licensing ?
