We are planning to migrate the entire application and architecture from local datacenter to IAAS cloud.
Please let us know the best approach.
Current environment :
- 2 nodes EBS 12.2.12 (Shared APPL_TOP), 1 node DMZ with Database 19.21
- SSO environment (1 node for OAM , 1 node for OID & Database 19c)
- Enterprise command center installed on a separate server integrated with EBS 12.2.12
- Operating System - Oracle Linux 8.5
Please let us know the best method in doing this and we are planned to clone entire VM (Oracle Linux 8.5) and hostname to be same as source and migrate to IAAS.
What type of IAAS. What is the cloud vendor? Best method is to go with OCI and follow the MOS documents which are written for these tasks.
Example MOS notes ->
Example Manual Migration of Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 with Oracle Database 12.1.0.2 to Oracle Base Database Service DB Systems (Doc ID 2673057.1)
Example Manual Migration of Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 with Oracle Database 19c to Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure(Doc ID 2966994.1)
Example Manual Migration of Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 with Oracle Database 23ai to Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure(Doc ID 3019988.1)
Note that: Oracle E-Business Suite is not certified on Amazon AWS as development teams have not tested any Oracle E-Business Suite releases with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). And Oracle has no plans to certify AWS or EC2 with any Oracle E-Business Suite releases.
You may treat IAAS as a platform, so you can do what you normally do in on-prem and make OID and OAM up and running, but if you want some Oracle opinions, here (as you may also want to integrate OAM with Amazon Directory services (AWS Managed Microsoft AD) ->
E-Business Suite (EBS) Across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Integrated With Amazon Directory Services (AWS Managed Microsoft AD) (Doc ID 2835416.1)
