Missing odacli

Matthieu
hello Erman,

I've just finished reimaging two oda x6 s nodes, with 12.1.2.12 (p12999313) and when i try to run configure-firstnet, i get an error :

[root@oak ~]# configure-firstnet
-bash: configure-firstnet: command not found

And i can't find my odacli binaries either :

[root@oak oak]# pwd
/opt/oracle/oak
[root@oak oak]# ls
config_log.out  lib  log  oswbb  pkgrepos
[root@oak oak]#

Any ideas welcome!
thanks

Was it a successful upgrade?
What document and steps did you follow?

Hello Erman,

it was a full reinstall. These two machines are demo machines and they came back from another client.

To have a clean platform for another KVM demo, i've decided to reinstall them completely.

The procedure was to change the IP addresses on the ILOM and then boot on the ISO (p12999313_1212120_Linux-x86-64). Installation went well, no errors, apart from the missing odacli...

thanks, Matthieu

It seems that p12999313_1212120_Linux-x86-64 is problematic.

configure-firstnet is missing as well..
Your whole bin directory is missing.

In Oracle Support, it is said that : "this is a pre-release of Oracle DB Appliance.   This is not a final release and is not intended for use on production systems." (this message was written in Jan 2018)
There is one community thread about your issue and the above statement is made there.
" Ref : Oracle Support / (Community Discussion ID 3554325)

It seems that p12999313_1212120_Linux-x86-64 is problematic.

So, I recommend you to do use this machine a lower ISO image version. (at least for now)

Or you can check download and check the patch 12999313, once again..

Maybe , it was buggy when you downloaded it and maybe now it is okay.. You can download the patch once again and compare it with yours, if you see any difference (in size -- in bytes..), then it may worth trying again.

But, once again.. it seems it is not ready.

Hello,

I've found the issue, i downloaded the wrong patch... i got the one for Oracle Database Appliance (p12999313_1212120_Linux-x86-64) and not the one for ODA X6S and M (23530609), silly mistake :(

Back to the "not ready for production" issue, I'll be testing KVM on an ODA X6-2 Small, which version would you recommand as I read that I need at least 12.1.2.11? Should I go for the latest one available (12.2.1.2.0)?

thanks, matt

Okay..

You can try the latest one.. There is no issue reported for that in Oracle Support.
