Oracle EBS R12.2 VM Server migration

Hello Team,

We will migrate the Oracle EBS R12.2.5 instance to a new data center by migrating the VM where we will keep all the DB and Apps server names and port numbers the same as before. The system is a 2-node installation that has DB in one server and apps in another server.

Would like to know, what steps we need to take care from the EBS point of view.

Any suggestion will be a great help.

Thanks

I guess you will physically migrate virtual machines to the new DC.. If everything (OS config, Filesystem config, NFS config, hostname, port numbers, IP addresses....)  will be really the same, and if you will migrate those vm(s), then you don't need to do anything extra.. Just ensure the network and access grants are in place.. Ensure user can reach EBS in the new place. If so, just stop the apps and db services, and start them after the vm migration. Just do a good test before opening the systems to user access..

Thank you so much, Erman.
I understand from the OS team they will migrate the system as it is however the IP address will be different and they will create an alise with the existing server with a new IP address so that network-level access will not be changed. Is it a workable solution? Any suggestion on this type of configuration?

IP change EBS environment will not affect you that much. But you should check and test.. Ensure no hard coded Ip addresses are present in the custom code.
they will create an alias with the existing server with a new IP address so that network-level access will not be changed" -> good, If there will be no difference in EBS perspective, we don't expect any complications.
