Oracle EBS R12 Non Rac to Rac

Dear Emran,

Need your expert guidance in migrating EBS R12(1 APP node, 1 DMZ node, 1 DB node) to RAC database.

Current = (1 APP node, 1 DMZ node, 1 DB node)
Target/Future = (1 APP node, 1 DMZ node, 2 DB nodes(RAC & ASM)

> What would be the steps to convert non-rac database to rac?

> Do we have to install new app tier binaries or we can use existing one? keeping in mind we are going with single app node.

> Any document you can refer for similar setup.

Hi Yasir,

Converting single to RAC db is a matter of configuration. It is not a big thing, but after configuring the db as RAC, you need to clear the Apps conf stored in db and run autoconfig on both of the RAC nodes to build it again...

I m talking about fnd_conc_clone.setup_clean here.

As for the apps node, you can use the same binaries in target.
You can mimic a clone operation
Ofcourse, this is true if ofcourse your the OS and platforms that you will use in your target apps nodes are the same as the Source .

If the OS and platform of your target is not the same as the source one , then you may need to install the EBS Techstack on target..
