Oracle Weblogic Server 12c is free to use or licensed ?

karthikmca.bhc
Hi Erman,

I have a requirement that I need to integrate ADF Application which was created using JDevelper 12c with my running EBS R12 application.

I have followed the oracle note ID 1353906.1 for integrating the adf application with my EBS.

To achieve the above, I have installed Oracle Weblogic 12c on my Oracle Linux as a standalone application Server for deployment of the ADF application.

My question starts here, Is Oracle Weblogic Server 12c is free or licensed to use the adf pages in my EBS application?

If Oracle Weblogic sever is licensed then what would be the cost of it? Which other free middle-ware tool will satisfy my need which is most equal to Oracle Weblogic.

Please clarify.

Thanks.
Karthik

In EBS 12.2, WLS Basic license is included in EBS... But this is for standard functionality -> See Section 3 in MOS Doc 1375686.1..

So what you are asking is a customization.. Separate licensing will be required for any customizations or extensions.

I can't tell you anything about the cost. This is not my expertise. You can check the price with your Oracle sales team.

As for an alternative to Weblogic, you may look at Glassfish.
It seems you can deploy ADF on Glassfish.. But you need to try it on your own, because there is no official documentation for that.. (the same logic that you see in document 1353906.1 may apply, but you need to test it...)
