Dear erman,

What is the use of ASM password file.How is it different from database password file.


Is there any option to recreate asm password file when it is corrupted or lost?

The same logic. Password file in ASM is used for local & remote connections via Oracle Net Services using password authentication.

To enable password file authentication, you must create/or already have a password file for Oracle ASM.
