Performace patches before upgrade

satish
Hi erman,

We are upgrading from 11.1.0.7 to 11.2.0.4
We have installed 11.2.0.4 and applied OCT2020 PSU.

We are referring to to avoid any performance issues during the upgrade --> "Things to Consider to Avoid Poor Performance or Wrong
Results on 11.2.0.4 ( Doc ID 1645862.1 )"

Bugs:

Document 18255105.8 Patch for upgrade scripts to identify histograms affected by fix of bug
15898932
NB: Apply before running the 11.2.0.4 upgrade script. There is no benefit to applying later on.

Document 19855835.8 Upgrade slow when reorganizing large stats history tables
NB:Apply before running the 11.2.0.4 upgrade script. There is no benefit to applying later on.

It says apply patches relevant to your psu.But our psu version is not listed.

We need your help to which patch should we apply. Patch 21392660 for 11.2.0.4.0 OR Patch 21765124 for 11.2.0.4.4 (We have applied
OCT2020 PSU)

Thank you

that document is old.. Its last update was done on 2019. your PSU is OCT 2020.
So those bugs may already resolved with your PSU.. You need to check that..

Quick answers;

*Those bugs may already be resolved in your PSU(or an earlier PSU which is released later than 2019 and before 2020).. Check that.
*Check the workaround if they are not resolved in your PSU (or in an older PSU than yours) and if those patches are not available..
*and ensure you are checking the correct side of the MOS document.. For instance, there where you see
the patches 21392660 and 21765124 11.2.0.4.4; -> For no PSU and PSUs up through 160719" is written...

21765124 is also listed in the section named "For PSUs 161018 and above" , but as said earlier; the document is old.. That's why it doesn't consider 2020 PSUs. However; probably, Patch 21765124 for 11.2.0.4.4 will work for you, but still you got to get the approval of Oracle Support for that..
