R12.2 Installation Failed on OEL 7.2

Hi Erman,

I have installed OEL 7.2 OS with all prerequisite rpm but not able to proceed with Installation.

All database check, Mt check , port check Everything is ok (getting right mark ) when I proceed with
Step 1 of 8 (Installing Database Oracle Home ) getting RW-50004: An error has occured. Check log file
for details .

I have attached all the log file for this isssue.

I gave dba as primary group for oracle as well as applmgr user and oraInventory also.

Rapid install check are completing successfully but after that i am unable proceed further .

You have invalid entry CRC

"invalid entry CRC" indicates that a file got corrupted.

Download at least the db related installation files once again.
Eensure that the downloaded file size matches the file size expected.

If you download these files on windows and then send it to UNIX, ensure that you FTP the files in BINARY mode.

Also ensure that you have sufficient tmp space and you have the proper permissions for installation files..

So, as you may guess, I think your installation are corrupted.

Now that issues got resolved . Installation moved to Step 2 0f 8 .
Now getting other issues.  
While restoring database Rman got failed.

RW-50010: Error - script has returned an error.

Your installation failed while restoring the database(which comes by the installation) using rman.
The failing command is ->


 sh -c "ORACLE_SID=ORCLPROD;export ORACLE_SID;ORACLE_HOME=/u01/db/oracle/PROD/12.1.0;export ORACLE_HOME; /u01/db/oracle/PROD/12.1.0/bin/sqlplus /nolog @/u01/db/oracle/PROD/12.1.0/appsutil/out/PROD_node1/restore-single2.sql"

So, restore-single2.sql script is failing.

Check the contents of restore-single2.sql, you will see the log file of it there.  (probably you will see a spool file there)

Check that log/spool file to see the reason.

I have seen there are log file restore-rac1.log in which it is showing rman restore completed till it create
controlfile .  recovery is completed.  not able to restore database

this is restore-rac2
check the relevant log file, not the restore-rac1 log file.

I think attached script restore-single2.sql is also fine. I dont think there will be no permission issues ri8.

Hi Erman,

Thanks for your suggestion , I have gone through log file . This was getting failed while restoring datafile
using rman. Then I found that proxy setting was enabled .

I have disable proxy on OEL 7.2 ...Still it was not working. Then I have gone through bash profile of oracle
user.

oralce user had some old environment variables . like wrong sid, wrong oracle home path etc.
I have removed all these entries , disabled firewall pemanunlty .

Later I have removed unzip utility from OEL 7.2 and set unzip version 5.5 which is already there
in rapidwiz/unzip --I have set this to OEL 7.2

Then  I have started installation . Now this got resolved moved to next level.
I will update you . once i succeed completely .

It really tested my patience  Trying this from last 20 days .

It was obvious that, rman restore was failing.
One of the possible cause can be the corrupt/bad env settings.
We could see it from the logs, but still glad that you solved it! keep going.

Finally , I have completed installation of R12.2 on OEL 7.2. This couldn't  be possible without you .
I really appreciate your help and suggestion for this. Literally I was trying hard  this from last 20 days.

I have already done on OEL6.9 . I wanted to do it on OEL 7.2 . Now I will go for Upgradation R12.2.0 to R12.2.6 . I really need your help in this also.

The steps which I followed for R12.2 installation on OEL 7.2
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1: Installed OEL 7.2 with all required packages.
Step 2: Configured yum repository , and updated yum using yum update command.
step 3: Verifyied pakgaes and kernel parameter according oracle dpc.
step 3: configured hostname in /etc/hosts and /etc/hostname file.
step 4: Downloaded R12.2 dump in Linux platform only .
Step 5:  removed existing unzip utility from OEL 7 and configured dump unzip utility which is available into /rapidqiz/Linux_86/unzip
Step 6: disabled firewall and selinux and also disabled proxy setting also .
step 7. created stage area.
step 8 : created required user and groups (oralce,applmgr, dba)
Step 9: granted required ownership and permitions .

Finally We have installed successfully . Sanity check also completed.
