R12.2 patch

Hello Erman,

I have a interesting question for you. I have cloned my R12.2 EBS enviroment but i could not create fs2 file system so i have onyle run file system and i need to apply some patches. Can i apply patches to  only run system ? Is it possible ?

Really interesting..
as you know, you have the hotpatch option in EBS 12.2
when used hotpatch with adop, adop applies patches directly to the run filesystem.
So technically, you can..
But I don't recommend.
What I recommend is, create your fs2 and apply your patches with online patching cycles.

adop phase=apply patches=1111111 apply_mode=downtime

You can try, but note that : "You must only use the downtime and hotpatch modes when explicitly directed, for example by the patch readme."

There is no information either hot patch or down time mode in readme.I thınk there is no way to apply to only run patch file system.

hotpatch option is used to apply the patch directly to the run filesystem.
But, in your case, it is at your own risk. (that's because, applying that patch using hotpatch option is not instructed in the patch's readme file)
