R12.2

satish
Hi,

Back from Vacation:)

Need one clarification on running autoconfig on patch file system.

will running autoconfig on patch filesystem updates any tables/profiles with patch filesystem configuration?

Thanks,
Grill

Thanks :)

I think yes, as it requires ebs_login trigger to be disabled, so it does db work.
But it may also be using the database only to lookup the nodes and get some info about them.

so, i didn't check that.

You can get a session trace and take a look at the patch fs autoconfig log to get more info about that.

In our environment,we have XML publisher tmp directory pointing to fs1 and there was some profile option that was set.

If autoconfig updates profile options from patch file system then these kind of profiles will change from fs1 to fs2

Erman,
I also have this question.

Profile is IBY: XML Temp Directory and we have set it to /u01/apps//fs1/aero/temp

So when we run autoconfig on patch file system,it may change this profile to fs2 right

This is a custom directory that you created.
adop will not regard this.
adop will not parse it and replace the fs1 to fs2 :)
At least, I don't think so.
So, I believe, even after the patching cycle, your profile setting will still be the same.

However, I recommend setting this profile to a directory outside fs1 and fs2.. This will be better .. No need to write to patch fs, as patch fs is a dispensable thing (by a means..)

Note, if you have set this profile using an environment variable, then things change..
after the patching cycle, your profile setting will be affected. But , I think you set it to the directory directly (not using an env variable), so you are good to go.
