R12.2

satish
Hi erman,

We are generating dbc file in ebs for ODI server and team was using this generated dbc in thier datasource and they are able to connect to ebs from thier server.

I dont understand how they are connecting to ebs as we are not sharing any password from ebs and no dedicated account created in ebs

Are you sure?
You are sharing some username with them.
I guess you are sharing an EBS user's username & password with them (FND_USER user)
Without this, it is impossible.
Think Discoverer Desktop, or Discoverer Admin.. You give the client the dbc and the client still enters username and password in Discoverer login screen. (the user and pass that the client enters , are for the EBS user.. application's user)

But I think, "ODI", which is the Oracle Data Integrator works directly with the db schema users.
but maybe in the new ODI releases, Oracle made ODI to use EBS FND_USER authentication, as well.

If they connect using EBS user, then yes it is needed.
Ask that to ODI team as well.
