RAC 12.2 gdb process consume CPU

mejid
Hi Erman,

We have an issue.On our RAC system we are seeing lots of process sometimes like below;

 /usr/bin/gdb --quiet -nx /proc/34181/exe 34181

I already googled that but couldnt find a good explanation,just found Oracle document ;

[root@exacs01vm01 ~]# /u01/app/12.2.0.1/grid/bin/diagsnap.pl stop

[root@exacs01vm01 ~]# /u01/app/12.2.0.1/grid/bin/diagsnap.pl deregister

You can also run the following command to check the status of diagsnap.pl:

[root@exacs01vm01 ~]# /u01/app/12.2.0.1/grid/bin/diagsnap.pl check

But thats already disable for all nodes

You are asking about an OS process, but you don't give any details about your OS.

GDB is used here to monitor root process which is coming from the kernel.

There is a known issue about OL 7.
OL7: "gdb" Indicates Root Process Is Using High CPU Load (Doc ID 2424462.1)
