Dear erman,


We have f5 load balancer serving the load to 2 back-end webservers.In this case, I think it's enough to place the certificate in load balancer itself with out placing them in back-end webservers.But who will generate the certificate request in this case?

Do we need to do that in application server from our end and send it to f5 team OR will f5 team  can do that?

If all the SSL work will be done on the Load Balancer layer, then you as Apps DBAs shouldn't think about the certificate related things. Load Balancer admin will configure the SSL related things on its own layer.

What you need to think about is to configure your apps tier with the Load Balancer url..(with the new Load balancer url if it was working with http:// earlier..)
I mean, once the load balancer is ready to serve through the https://blabla url, you will configure your apps tier and make it know this change..
