Scan connection issue - EBS

satish
Hi erman ,

We are having 2 node application tier and 2 node database tier.
Need your support in understanding from where does exactly the below tnsping takes the information.

Below output taking wrong port.Scan port is 1528 but it takes 1521.
I have verified tnsnames.ora but it does not have any entry related to scan.

Not sure whether it is due to this issue.prepare phase hanging while generating tablespace report.

[appluat@erpuatapp02 ~]$ tnsping erpuat-scan
TNS Ping Utility for Linux: Version 10.1.0.5.0 - Production on 16-MAR-2023 17:04:05
Copyright (c) 1997, 2003, Oracle. All rights reserved.
Used parameter files:
/u01/UATINST/fs2/inst/apps/ UATDB_erpuatapp02/ora/10.1.2/network/admin/ sqlnet_ifile.ora
Used HOSTNAME adapter to resolve the alias
Attempting to contact
(DESCRIPTION-(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NA
ME=erpuat-scan.ttd.com))
(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=*******)
(PORT=1521))(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)
(HOST=******* (PORT=1521))
(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)
(HOST=**************) (PORT=1521)))
TNS-12541: TNS:no listener

Thanks,
Satish

Check the tnsnames.ora in your directory pointed by the env. variable called $TNS_ADMIN(in your shell)
You have a TNS entry named erpuat-scan and it is configured with port 1521.
Probably your EBS configuration is wrong. Recheck your config. Do autoconfig to correct it if necessary. and ensure you are using the correct TNS_ADMIN for your tests (that you do with tnsping..) You may be using the wrong tnsnames.ora in the background.
