Some icons on home page in newly installed 12.2.7 VM appliance do nothing when clicked

Hi,

Would anyone have an idea why the following icons do not function? Others function perfectly well:

System Profile Options
Define (Security:User)
View Concurrent Requests
Segments (Application:Flexfield:Descriptive)

What do you mean some icons?

Please provide me a screenshot.

As you may know, EBS relies on a 3 layer arch. (client - app - db)
Some of the functionality is delivered using Oracle Forms. (via client based applet)
Maybe those function you are talking about, are Oracle Forms related. If those are forms related and if you can't open forms on your client pc, then you can't use them..

what are the functions that are now working?
For ex: Is conc administer screen working?

Erman,

I meant buttons on Home page. Having examined shortcut associated with each button, it appears that any javascript action is not firing on my laptop. I have JRE 8 update 161 installed on my laptop so perhaps this is the issue. Still looking for a solution. Thank you for your reply.

Check this document: R12: Recommended Browsers for Oracle E-Business Suite (Doc ID 389422.1)

The certifications changes according to your client OS, Browser and Java plugin version.

There are things that you configure on client side browser as well.
for ex: Popup blocker should be off.

I don't know the details, but it seems your Forms screens are not working.. (those are working on the client side, so they are dependent to the Client browser and java plugin version)

For a quick solution, add the EBS to secure sites.
Decrease the security level on your browser.
Delete Java 8 plugin.
Install Java 7 plugin. (check what is delivered with your EBS, and install that same version to client)
Test your java plugin is working. (using a website for testing java plugin version)
Retest issue.
