Voting disk - Raid - external redundancy

satish
Dear erman,

We are on 12.1.0.2

I understand in normal or high redundancy disk group,if one of the disk where ocr and vote disk is corrupted, then Diskgroup keeps running.

But in external redundancy with raid configuration, when a disk where ocr/vote disk fails, then will  disk group gets dismounted?

Please clarify.

Thanks,
Satish

In external redundancy, your storage array should guarantee the availability of the data. If Oracle can not reach the data (ocr & vote disks in this case) , then the things fails.
So as long as your raids tolerate disk failures, you ll be safe.
