Weblogic conflicts R12.2.5

Hi erman,

While applying patch to weblogic home.

Conflict applying patch

we are in 12.2.5

[appluat@erpuatapp01 cache_dir]$ bsu.sh -install -patch_download_dir=$FWW_HOME/utils/bsu/cache_dir -patchlist=DN1F -prod_dir=$FMW_HOME/wlserver_10.3^C
[appluat@erpuatapp01 cache_dir]$ pwd
/u01/UATAPPS/fs1/FMW_Home/utils/bsu/cache_dir

We are facing the errors while applying it

Patch DN1F is mutually exclusive and cannot coexist with patch(es): CIH8



In section 4.3 in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2: Consolidated List of Patches and Technology Bug Fixes ( Doc ID 1594274.1 ),we are able to see the patch CIH8.

can we rollback CIH8 and apply DN1F,please confirm?

This conflict is not documented, but you should remove CIH8 to continue patching..

CIH8 is a patch delivered with startCD 12.2.0.48
DN1F is not delivered with any startCDs.. So normally, it should not conflict with CIH8, but here it is conflicting...

Look at the following bugs... DN1F includes CIH8.. In addition DB1F has additional fixes.. so I would rollback CIH8 and apply DN1F.

The following are the bugs fixed by patch DN1F :

*17220061 - ADAPTER FRAMEWORK LIBRARIES AND DEPENDENT FILES FOR REST PROJECT
*17331802 - INVOCATION OF APPS ADAPTER IS FAILING FROM STANDALONE CLIENT
*17351504 - BPM-INFRA LIBRARY FOR EBS REST PROJECT
22617333 - Oracle Apps Adapter not setting apps context correctly
25243323 - APPS ADAPTER FAILS WITH INVALID USERNAME DURING ISG REST STRESS TESTING


The following are the bugs fixed by patch CIH8 :

**17431995 MERGE REQUEST ON TOP OF 11.1.1.7.0 FOR BUGS 17220061 17331802 17351504
17495356 TRACKING BUG FOR SMARTUPDATE PATCH OF MLR BUG 17431995 --Note: not important.

Similar case for different patch conflicting with DN1F  ->

Conflict Condition between WebLogic Patch 25333306 (SUY4) and Patch 26795917 (DN1F) (Doc ID 2371515.1)

So in these undocumented conflict situations, you will check the bugs.. If the new patch includes all the bugs fixed by the other one, then you can remove it. This is a general approach, but! ofcourse you should always ask these things to Oracle Support and get their approval too..
