adsplice in R12.2.5

Hello erman,

Oracle upgrade guide-"Note: In Release 12.2, you should use adsplice to register your application in order to ensure that the application is set up for online patching. Do not use the Applications window to register applications in this release."

We will maintain our customizations manually,i mean during downtime and outside of patching cycle.In this case,why do we need to use adsplice to register the application?

I understand your concern.. Good point.
The deployments on those custom tops are also managed manually here...
Still, I will recommend you to use the adsplice, since it is the only documented way of doing this job on EBS 12.2.
There will be upgrades, patching, cutovering kinds of staff in your EBS 12.2. You don't want your custom application to dissapear after those kinds of activities right? So even if you don't need that method, use it as documented.

It is already said that -> With E-Business Suite 12.2.x the possibility to use OAM for a Custom Product TOP has been removed. You need to use the adsplice Utility from the Command line to add your Custom Product TOP starting with EBS 12.2.3 and higher.
