compute node temperature

Roshan
Hi Erman,

we noticed the temperature on the compute nodes are getting higher (40 degree-50 degree). What checks can we do? What can be the possible cause for this?

Thanks,
Roshan

Okay.  more than 32 Degrees.. So it is high.
Check the air conditions.. the data center conditions.. Exadata should be operating in its specified range.

If the cause is related with the datacenter conditions, followings may be considered;

Increasing air flow into the rack
removing any potential blockage from foreign matter
reducing the possibility of hot-aisle/cold-aisle air mixing creating artificially warm conditions
reducing the normal room ambient on the cold-aisle side
increasing air extraction out from the hot-aisle, or relocation of the rack to a different part of the data center.

There are some cases on X3 series..

Anyways, if all the conditions are okay, and if you don't see anything useful in the ILOM; then a SR should be opened for Oracle Support to investigate and correct as needed.
