effect of dc change on running database server

Hi Erman!
Quick and probably stupid question:

If the Domain controllers are changed to the new ones on database server /etc/resolv.conf+restarted service on server  that is  running databases.

All working for new connections. Db is  NOT restarted.
WHat will happen if some old  connections  were establish prior and still use the  old domain controller prio change and that dc will be shutdown.

It will automatically re-establish connection?

Hi Laurel,

resolv.conf is for DNS only.
DC shutdown may bring us catastrophic effects. It actually depends on your env. But, you already activate the new DC and now you are concerned about the active/old connections.
The ability to reconnect an Oracle Database depends on the application side actually.

What do you use in the application side?
What do you use for connecting to the Oracle Database in the application side?

thx for answer as usual.:)
We already know that Weblogic need to be restarted. Its not taken the changes on the fly.
The  new connections + concurrents were very slow as were trying till get timeout

Working OK are - old versions iAS, OAS ,Apache and tomcat.

I will let you know what else NOT working :)
