Dear erman,

we currently have 2 servers oracle 11G running on RHEL5 (This Servers has reached END of Life and no hardware support for it)
one server is having asm as storage and the other is nonasm storage

Now we've a brand new machines with RHEL6 & we want to migrate that full oracle database to these machines.

From your experience,Please let us know what is best feasible way.

Thank you

1 server is for prod and other server is for test

prod server is having asm as storage while the other server has nonasm storage(local)

we have to migrate prod and test servers to new hardware

ASM is not a storage.
It is a volume manager and a filesystem.

you can use Dataguard for the migration.
Dataguard will work perfrectly between your old Rhel and new Rhel. They are both linux. Same platforms, same endians.. So use dataguard.
