I am doing a post clone of EBSr12.1. DB post clone is successful but I see an error in logfile. Can i ignore?


Using make file "ins_emagent.mk" for linking SYSMAN utilities...

It seems they can be ignored..
some of them is related with the following bug:

Bug 9828407 : TOO MANY WARNING MESSAGES WHEN INSTALLING ORACLE 11.2

that bug states the following:
Most versions of ld will only forward parse the link line.  The warnings are due to the method Oracle uses when parsing the link line.

So, it is logical.. In my opinion, they are just the noise coming from the linker (in case of AIX) -- MOS already states that..

You can also check those binaries that may be the victim of those relink operations that encountered those warning, and ensure they are working properly.. But! I 'm not the owner of the code, so you should ask this to Oracle Support and make them verify. (that will be a more guaranteed way for the decision).. So, It s still better to get the approval of Oracle for your specific case.

But also AIX should be properly configured and patched according to the Oracle needs for being sure that we re in the safe side.

For instance -> Applications Fail with 'Segmentation Fault' or "Illegal Instruction" after Upgrade to AIX 7.2 TL1 Following a Relink (Doc ID 2272288.1)

So according to that and the following IBM note, APAR IV94362 should be there if your version is similar to the one given in the above MOS note and given in the following IBM Note.. (to be safe)

We don't want segmentation faults during the runtime..
