Set CONFIG_JVM_ARGS in your shell
export CONFIG_JVM_ARGS="-Xms1024m -Xmx1024m"

Run the prepare phase in the same shell and update me with the outcome

Thank you, after setting the parameter it completed successfully.
Can you plz let us know how this worked,beacause didnt see any memory errors in logs.

I believe, sometimes during cloning, there may be some shortages in java heap.(java heap of the cloning processes)
When you set this env variable, you have sufficient heap space for all the cloning operations.. (java side of the cloning process)

can we find the default heap that was used by cloning process?

you can check with ps -ef while your cloning processes are running.
you can also go into the code and see.. (they can be in the wrappers that call java.. like perl scripts that call java)
But the place that this values are set, may differ.
For ex: for t2p activities, we have s_t2p_jvm_heap_parameters in context_file.
Anyways, go with config_jvm_args.. In your instance, as you see the default was "< 1024"
