question on prepare phase

Hi Erman,

Every time when we run prepare phase,it takes long time in our 2 node instance.where as in single node it was completing in less time

is there any way to speedup the prepare phase operation?

1)What you mean by single node? 2 node RAC db or 2 node Apps tier?

2)What else did you change? Any db parameter ?

sry for not clarifying my question

when we ran the prepare phase in single application tier node,it was completing with less time
when we ran the prepare phase in 2 node application tier,it was rally taking lot of time to complete

2)What are your AD and TXK levels?
3)Did you check the prepare log during adop run? Where does adop spend most of it time?
4)How long does it take to finish the prepare phase approximately?
5)Does this slowness appear in every run?

1)R12.2.5
2)ad and txk levels at 7
3)will try next time
4)approximately 2 hours
5)this slowness appear in every run in multi apps tier nodes(apps services running on 2 nodes and db on another node)
6)we are not seeing this slowness on single apps tier(apps services running on 1 node and db on another node)

Did you check the prepare log during adop run? Where does adop spend most of it time?

If it is related with a FMW related operation like doing fs clone internally and building a FMW archive ->you can retest it after deleting all the logs files in managed servers and admin server directories.
Having lots of log files in those directories, may cause FMW archive to built very slowly..

First start with adop log file and then go into the details of the specific log files, like txkADOPPreparePhaseSynchronize and  FSCloneStageAppsTier.
