refresh physical disk from shanpshots

Hello Erman,

we need to refresh our target database which is on RAC 2 nodes. The ASM, datafiles and archive logs are on physical disks.

How can we refresh the disks using snapshots from source DR? The issue is the ASM disks on target contain ASM data.

What kind of snapshot are you talking about? Storage snapshot? If you are talking about storage snapshots; just put your source/primary db into backup mode, take the storage snapshot, end the backup mode on source/primary db, transfer that snapshot to your DR storage, create a lun from that snapshot, stop the DG replication and shutdown your DR db, map the luns to your DR Db node, do the related OS stuff (make OS remove the old ones and see the new luns), open your DR DB and make the replication/DG setup to continue from where it left of..

Hi,

the target environment is a 2 node RAC cluster. Suppose the disks present on target are a,b and c. We need to remove the 3 disks (a,b and c) and take a snapshot (disks f,g,h) from source DR database (primary replicat which is single instance).

The problem is if we attach the snapshot to target cluster, the cluster becomes unstable.

Kindly advise how to fix this.
