Parameters prior to upgrade to 11.2.0.4

Dear erman,

We are in 11.1.0.7 version. We are upgrading to 11.2.0.4

Do we need to add below parameters prior to upgrade in pfile

compatible=11.2.0.4
Diagnostic_dest

OR
can we add this after upgrade
