Hi,
You need to use delete obsolete command. "Delete obsolete" command will delete all the obsoleted backup according to the retention policy. Rman does not delete obsolete backups automatically.
Hi,
I have scheduled daily backups(incremental 1) on Enterprise Manager. I have also set the recovery window to 5 days. I have noticed the backup sets keep on increasing.

As seen in the above picture, there are 10 backupsets. The number of backupsets keeps on increasing.
Does RMAN automatically delete the obsolete backups after the 5 day retention policy?
Thanks,
Roshan
