Update,: if it ll delete that backup, then it means you have a more recent full backup that satisfies the retention policy. Please read oracle documentation and get the idea.

The recovery window based retention policy works that way. İt will not delete that full backup in your case. In your situation, you need to have at least one more recent backup to make your full backup obsolete.

Please read oracle documentation. İt seems your understanding on rman retention policies, is not clear yet.

Hi,

a full backup was taken on 30/06/2016. When I do report obsolete I see the backupset on 30/06/2016 listed among the obsolete backups. If I do delete obsolete and removes the full backup on 30/06/2016, will the recovery fail?
