upgrade from 12.1.3 to R12.2. on solaris 10

Hi Emran,
I am upgrading EBS R12.1.3 to R12.2
I am already upgrade the db from 11.2.0.4 to 12c and apply all ETCC patches on db tier. And after that install the 12.2 application in upgrade mode for creating the xml file.While upgrading the main drivers file i am facing the issue

Hi Emran,
But that doc is for upgrading db 11.2.0.3 to 12c for R12.2
and i am upgrading db from 11.2.0.4 to 12c in 12.1.3 environment and after that i am try to upgradge application from R12.1.3 to R12.2. at that time i am facing this issue

Follow and Update me ->

1. If instance is already at R12.AD.C.DELTA.7 BUNDLE II and package body APPS.AD_ZD_ADOP is invalid, confirm the readme was followed along with the Delta 7 Installation Notes when Patch 20745242 and Patch 22123818 were applied.

2. If not you may need to run adgrants located in $APPL_TOP/admin directory or in the following directory for Patch 22123818:

Please run the adgrants.sql with the highest version between the two directories.

  22123818/admin adgrants.sql

3. Note: The adgrants script should be copied to your database $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/admin directory and run as SQLDBA with the APPS schema name passed as a parameter, as indicated in the README.

Hi Emran,
After db upgrade and applying all the patches in ETCC on db side just install the R12.2. and apply the preinstall patches and now apply the main upgrade patch and that patch is fail

Hi EMRAN,
IF i miss some preinstall patches and apply the main upgrade patch so at that situation can we apply the preinstall patch again and after that apply the main upgrade patch after merge it or we can do the fresh clone do the same activity again .
and currently in my environment i am using the two more languages one is polish and latin american spanish so after upgrade we can enable this languages and apply the patch corresponding patches

It depens on the patch and the situation..

If you are doing a critical upgrade, I would suggest you doing it from scratch.

You skipped some actions(prereq or postreq), right?

Hi Emran,
Now my db is upgraded 12.1.0.2 and application is 12.1.3 when i ran the ETCC on my db side it shows me around 29 db patches can i apply this patches with one opatch command . i.e opatch napply -id and patch numbers and do post patch after that i.e datapatch only once

I don't the patches listed by ETCC and I didn't read their readmes... So I find it a little bit risky..
Anways, I usually don't use napply for patching the DB home for EBS upgrades.
But, why don't you install the latest PSU to your database tier first?
Latest PSU will deliver lots of bug fixes and that list with the 29 patch items, will be shorten after it.

Prerequisite: Apply the AD Upgrade Patch for Release 12.2 (Patch 10117518) by merging it with the latest Consolidated Upgrade Patch (CUP) for AD (Patch 24690501:R12.AD.C).

    The AD Upgrade Patch for Release 12.2 (Patch 10117518) readme contains information about the latest Consolidated Upgrade Patch (CUP) for AD (Patch 24690501:R12.AD.C).
    You must follow the Patch 10117518 readme and apply it by merging it with the latest Consolidated Upgrade Patch for AD, along with any other patches mentioned in the Readme, as instructed in the readme and by referring to the Upgrade Guides.

Apply the Consolidated Upgrade Patch (CUP) for Release 12.2.0 (Patch 24690520:12.2.0) in pre-installation mode on the Run Edition File System.

Note: Before applying Patch 24690520:12.2.0 for the latest CUP in pre-installation mode:

If you have applied any other patch previously in pre-installation mode and do not intend to merge it with 12.2.0 upgrade driver u10124646.drv, clean up the directory <APPL_TOP>/admin/<TWO_TASK>/preinstall on run file system after taking the backup of the current directory.

Merging patch drivers in run file system's <APPL_TOP>/admin/<TWO_TASK>/preinstall with <AU_TOP>/patch/115/driver/u10124646.drv:

    Change directory to <AU_TOP>/patch/115/driver
    $ cd $AU_TOP/patch/115/driver
    $ admrgpch -d . -preinstall -master u10124646.drv


The above we i am confusing about the note
Patch 10117518
is merge with patch#24690501:R12.AD.C) and 26321002:R12.AD.C
After running the adgrants.sql
we have to merge above three patches and apply it
Then according to 10117518 patch readme  apply critical patch 6767273:R12.AD.A

may i right then
24690520:12.2.0
then apply the above patch with preinstall mode
and after that from Document 1448102.2
we have to apply all the patches in preinstall mode and then finally we have to merge with master american patch

It seems like there is a documentation bug..
You need to go with 24690520..
The line with 22742071 should be ignored. It should be 24690520.

22742071 is superseded by 24690520 anyways.
