I was trying to upgrade FMW 11.1.1.6 to 11.1.1.7
(NOTE : All application services were running during the complete upgrade process. as i didnt see any recommendations to shut down services and also the patch application is on patch file system)
As per the document ID 2002603.1.
1. Run the prepare phase from run file system.
Done.
2. Source the patch file system and run the upgraded using runInstaller on the patch file system.
Note: Remove or rename the existing $FMW_HOME/webtier/OPatch folder before 'runInstaller', to avoid any failures of patch application during WebTier software installation
Completed Successfully.
Step 3.1 Start WebLogic Admin Server from the patch file system
Before performing the post-upgrade tasks, start WebLogic Admin Server from the patch file system, using the forcepatchfs option:
UNIX:
$ adadminsrvctl.sh start forcepatchfs
Done.
3. perform post upgrade task by following 5.6 Post-Patching Tasks for System Components document

5.6.1 recommendation to run ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/upgradenonj2eeapp.sh
before running upgradenonj2eepp.sh
he OPMN instance in the bin directory in the Instance home is up and running.
On UNIX operating systems:
cd INSTANCE_HOME/bin
./opmnctl start
=== here i cannot start the opmnctl service from patch base.
