How can we identifiy if my processor is dual core/quad core/octa core?

CPU(s):                4
On-line CPU(s) list:   0-3
Thread(s) per core:    1
Core(s) per socket:    2
Socket(s):             2

I think above is dual core

Dual core= 2 core. 

But, you have 4 cores inside your CPU.

Erman,

Is there any command that tells us the cores are dual core or quad or octa?

In one of our system,from cpuinfo we could see  24 processors and cores are 6.in this case I think it is quad core 6*4=24

Is It make sense?
